The Sex Abuse Treatment Center Receives “Top Cop” Award
The Law Enforcement and Security Coalition of Hawai‘i selected SATC to receive the Outstanding Association Award during the 33rd “Top Cop” Annual Law Enforcement/Security Awards Banquet held last October at the Prince Waikiki.
Award recipients hailed from several sectors, such as law enforcement, private security, military and non-profit agencies. The Outstanding Association Award is presented to the private security organization or association showing the greatest initiative and/or innovativeness in promoting the professionalism of private security. The Law Enforcement and Security Coalition of Hawai‘i adopted the Hawaiian expression of “E Pupukahi,” which has the symbolic meaning of “working together as one to make Hawai‘i a safe place to live and work.”
Accepting the award on behalf of SATC were Dr. Steven Emura, SATC medical director, and Cindy Shimomi-Saito, SATC associate director. Also in attendance representing SATC were Dawn Ching, vice president of hospital operations for Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children, and SATC staff including Karen Stouppe, special projects supervisor; Penny Kamahiai, business manager; Richelle Freitas, business operations supervisor; Doreen Rand, client service representative; and David Nisthal, education coordinator.Bring to the table win-win survival strategies to ensure proactive domination.
